One of my all time favorite pieces of art…. and we have a lot of art….. is “Music Kitty” by Beau Dunn. When I was thinking about including Beau in an “Art & Fashion” piece…. I thought I better not… as people will think I am writing about Beau Dunn because she is my daughter. But it couldn’t be further from the truth. I am featuring Beau… because she is an amazing artist… period.
As with every artist…. not every piece speaks to you… But I must say, this series really has captured my heart.
“Music Kitty” is created with full size CDs, a real Fender Guitar, drum sticks, sheet music and an old record as her visor.
The artist….. Beau Dunn
Beau has constructed 5 foot tall, exact replicas of Hello Kitty…. out of sheet metal. She then created a theme for each one…. and ran with that theme. I stand before “Cell Phone Kitty” created with over a 100 cell phones from all over the world.The “Hello Kitty” series is just a small example of Beau’s art. With pleasure we will feature Beau again at a later date…..
