This edition of Art & Fashion was originally intended to be a story about subtle and gentler leather…. BROWN…. opposed to the harsher colored… BLACK leather. So when Ana and I hit the mean streets of Los Angeles and literally stumbled upon Chase…. a world-renown street artist that had been commissioned to do a mural on the side of the building we were shooting in front of…. we were so thrilled to have the opportunity to hang out with and paint him for a little while! From Belgium originally…. Chase’s murals can we seen at over 250 locations globally…. and boasts commissioned work for the likes of Nickelodeon, Adidas and Scion. Chase was kind enough to allow us to help out with a few sprays here and there… making the fashion take a back seat to his amazing street art.
Brown Leather…. Much easier to wear than black as it is not quite as harsh… and is actually a better choice for most skin tones. Today’s brown leather consists of a beautiful distressed leather jacket by Alexander McQueen with a great tail flap…. and pair of J Brand leather jeans and finishing off with a pair of brown “pony hair” pumps by Prada.
