The Scuba Skirt
I found this amazing orange “Scuba Skirt” at H&M a couple of weeks ago and was blown away by the $25 price tag. The quality was pretty fabulous and the full stretchy fit is great for body types from A to Z. We “Poshed” out our bright orange, neoprene (scuba) skirt with a black Paco Rabanne blazer with a blue nylon lapel ($450), an Altuzzarra white silk patterned blouse ($1845), a bright orange sequin Roger Vivier purse ($3500) and a pair of bright orange suede Guiseppe Zanotti platform sandals ($1800). We threw in a few more “pennies” by adding a $10 pair of ZeroUV round orange sunglasses to the mix (more on this brand next week). And Voila… an incredible mix of expensive staples with a few seasonal “pennies.”
Now I wouldn’t leave the house in a skirt this short (unfortunately I am past the age of wearing such short minis), but the afternoon we were shooting, it was around 95 degrees outside and the thought of covering my legs was just NOT an option. So when I do go into public with my new orange scuba skirt…. I will add in a pair of cute leggings…. or a pair of opaque black tights…. or even a pair of nude nylons with a pattern of sorts. Orange truly is the new black and you will be seeing a lot more of this happy shade for Fall/Winter 2015…. going into Spring/Summer 2016!!
